Workshop: Trauma Informed Care - November 15 and 22

The Manitoba Alliance of Health Regulatory Colleges is excited to host a workshop on Trauma Informed Care facilitated by Eden Dales (Eden Dales Social Work & Psychotherapy Services) on Nov 15 and Nov 22, 2024, 9AM- 1:30 PM CST.

Trauma Informed Care for Professional Regulators" focuses on the core concepts of trauma informed care (Safety, Trustworthiness and Transparency, Peer Support, Collaboration and Mutuality, Empowerment and Cultural, Historical and Gender Issues).

The workshop will include evidence supporting the relevance of this model, and review how trauma is experienced in all aspects of daily life. The science and neuro-biology of trauma will be reviewed, with references to studies and articles published in academic journals.

Learning objectives are specified to address evidence supporting the need for training in this area for regulators, investigators, lawyers and professionals. This training is intended a means to maintain or enhance a professional's knowledge, skills, beliefs, behaviours, attitudes and professionalism.
