Manitoba Registered Nurses Centennial Legacy Scholarship


Applications are now open for the Manitoba Registered Nurses Centennial Legacy Scholarship, which is administered through the Canadian Nurses Foundation. The scholarship is available to Manitoba residents who are registered on the practising register of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba. The scholarship shall provide support to registered nurses in Manitoba from all domains of practice pursuing graduate studies at the Master’s or PhD level. Are You Eligible for Continuing Education Bursaries?

The Nurses’ Alumni Association of the Winnipeg General Hospital and Health Sciences Centre (WGH/HSC) supports the ongoing education of active Alumni members through two funds – The Jane A. Malcolm Bursary Fund and the Viola Leadlay Continuing Education Fund. 

Who? Do you hold a paid annual or life membership in the Alumni? Paid annual or life members of the Alumni are eligible for funding assistance. 
What? Are you interested in studying for a degree, diploma or certificate? Your Alumni can assist you through the Jane A. Malcolm Bursary Fund. 
Are workshops, seminars and conferences important to you? Your Alumni can assist you through the Viola Leadlay Continuing Education Fund.

St Boniface Registered Nurses’ Alumni Funding Opportunities

Graduates of the Registered Nurses’ Program from St. Boniface School of Nursing and Associate Members of the Alumni are eligible for funding up to a maximum amount of $500.  Funding will be awarded for practice-based nursing research, workshops, and conferences.  Proposed research must be clinically relevant and ultimately benefit patients.

To be considered, graduates must:
  • be or become paid members of the Alumni
  • provide proof of enrolment for workshops or conferences
  • provide one page summary of proposal for research studies
  • submit a letter of application by February 28, 2018
  • be in attendance at the Annual Dinner on May 16, 2018
Please note that the Alumni reserves the right to request return of funding should the candidate not complete the research or attend the workshop or conference, other than for reasons of personal illness.  Those interested should apply in writing to:
