The Association Congratulates Karen Dunlop on her Appointment as the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Board Chair 

The Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba is pleased to congratulate our Interim Executive Director Karen Dunlop on her appointment as the chair of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) Board of Directors. 

“We are incredibly proud that Karen has been appointed as the chair of the WRHA board. Her leadership experience, extensive career in healthcare and strong advocacy for patient care make her an excellent choice for this position,” said Margaret Rauliuk, board chair, Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (Association). “We’ve seen the full benefit of Karen’s experience and expertise in the development of the Association where she has played a vital role. Her ability to critically analyze complex issues, strong leadership skills and commitment to the health of Manitobans will serve the WRHA well.” 

Karen has extensive experience in the healthcare system. She has been an RN for more than 30 years, practicing in a variety of roles including critical care nurse, Registrar of the Manitoba Association of Registered Nurses, Regional Director of the WRHA Emergency Program, President of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba, consultant, board member of the Canadian Nurses Association and President of the Canadian Nurses Protective Society. In addition to her nursing background, she holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the U of M and is a certified change manager with PROSCI. 

The Association is the professional voice of registered nurses in Manitoba. We support and promote excellence in nursing practice, education, research, leadership and policy. We advocate for registered nurses and the health of people living in Manitoba.
