How might floating benefit me?

Taking care of others can result in fatigue of the mind and body. Shift work, chronic stress, a fast-paced environment, repetitive movement, and compassion fatigue can all lead to poor sleep and the decline of your physical and mental well being.
Many of our guests, including nurses, use the float tank as a tool to assist in regaining some of their work/life balance by improving sleep quality during a shift change, relaxing sore achy muscles and joints,  and relieving stress and anxiety that comes from a demanding job or home life.

Remember, if you don’t refill your cup, you won’t have anything left to give.

What is floatation therapy?

Known in the science world as R.E.S.T. (restricted environmental stimulation technique), floating is a therapy that works by removing all external stimulation coming into the nervous system. Studies have shown this environment lowers blood cortisol levels, decreases blood pressure, and reduces activity in the default mode network of the brain, a leading cause for anxiety.
You can use floating to help treat anxiety, combat stress, treat chronic pain, re-adjust sleeping patterns, or to just relax and get into a deep meditative state.

What is the tank like?

Each float tank contains ten inches of water and over 850 lbs of Epsom salt, creating a solution so buoyant, you float effortlessly and achieve a sensation of weightlessness.

The solution is heated to skin temperature. This, along with the restriction of all light and sound creates a pure state of ‘sensory’ relaxation.

It should be noted that our float tanks are very large and should not be compared to tanning beds. They are extremely spacious and much more similar in size to a small car.

The enclosure helps maintain air temperature and humidity levels which is very important for creating a properly calibrated float environment.
Under these unique conditions, more commonly referred to as sensory deprivation, your body has the opportunity to reconnect with its natural ability to self-regulate and restore while you lie back and rediscover the pleasure of a deeply relaxed mind.
