Advancing Psychological Health and Safety in Nursing

Since the 2015 release of the Manitoba Nurses Union’s (MNU) report, PTSD in the Nursing Profession, MNU has embarked upon multiple lobbying and research initiatives to advance workplace psychological health and safety. MNU’s Researcher, Mikaela Brooks, will share key findings from the 2015 research report and highlight the actions MNU has accomplished thus far for Manitoba’s nursing workforce. Participants will gain knowledge about the common psychological hazards prevalent in the nursing profession and learn more about the national psychological health and safety strategy. Mikaela will also identify and discuss key provincial initiatives currently underway to improve workplace psychological health.
