Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

The COVID-19 Pandemic is an evolving situation and Manitoba Health is continually assessing the public health risk, based on the best available evidence.

We encourage you to keep updated by visiting and sharing the online screening tool for anyone experiencing symptoms.

For those who are concerned about potentially being in contact with COVID-19, please advise them to contact Health Links – Info Santé at 204-788-8200 or 1-888-315-9257.

The following are recommended strategies for Manitobans:

  • Minimizing prolonged (more than 10 minutes), close (less than six feet) contact between other individuals in public
  • Avoiding greetings that involve touching such as handshakes
  • Disinfecting frequently used surfaces
  • Following public health advice related to self-monitoring and self-isolation if you have travelled or have been exposed to someone ill with the virus
  • Visit the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19): Prevention and risks page on the Public Health Agency of Canada website
  • Zoom videoconferencing support

For nursing specialty groups with meetings that still need to happen, ARNM can support you by helping you set up Zoom videoconferencing. Email with your request.

Since strong evidence is crucial to delivering effective nursing care, ARNM is encouraging nurses to refer to the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and Manitoba Health for evidence-based, timely and relevant information on the coronavirus. Both PHAC and Manitoba Health have dedicated Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) webpages. Updates are also available through their Facebook and Twitter channels.
