About the Association

The Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba is the professional association representing licensed practical nurses (LPNs), registered psychiatric nurses (RPNs), nurse practitioners (NPs), registered nurses (RNs), graduate nurses, nursing students and former registered nurses in Manitoba.

Philosophy Statement:

We believe in supporting and promoting nursing across all settings – practice, education, research, leadership and policy. We believe in doing what’s best for our members and the health of people living in Manitoba. We further believe it is our responsibility to engage and inspire nurses to take pride in their profession and assume leadership in our community. We are champions of diversity, inclusivity, equity, social justice and democracy so we can all work together to create something better.

The Association is the professional voice of nurses in Manitoba. We support nurses to be empowered health leaders across all settings to advance nursing and advocate for the public they serve. We promote and celebrate excellence in nursing.

Diversity Position Statement:

The Association affirms that equity, diversity, and inclusion are central to the promotion and practice of nursing and as a profession we must continue to support the creation of a more equitable, diverse and inclusive society.

Equity takes difference into account to ensure a fair process and, ultimately, a fair outcome. Equity recognizes that some groups were (and are) disadvantaged in accessing health services and are, therefore, underrepresented or marginalized. Diversity can be defined as the sum of the ways that people are both alike and different. When we recognize, value, and embrace diversity, we are recognizing, valuing, and embracing the uniqueness of each individual.
